Big Dipper Cabin

The Big Dipper is one of the most recognizable 7 star formations in the Alaska night sky and graces our state flag. We chose to call this cabin the Big Dipper because we feel it lives up to the name- bright, inspiring and notable. Hand crafted from Alaska spruce, this inviting cabin is the perfect base for your Denali adventures.

This log cabin located just a few hundred yards off the George Parks Highway. The cabins are located in a wooded setting within walking distance of the local stores and restaurants in Healy. The 49th State Brewery, delicious Thai food, Rose’s Café, two convenience stores and a full service grocery and liquor store are all nearby. The entrance to Denali National Park and the Canyon Business area are a short and scenic 11-12 mile drive. There are lots of walking and hiking opportunities nearby all with great views of the Alaska Range. The Cabins are nestled in a quiet wooded property. Each cabin comes fully equipped with two queen beds, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, internet and TV with Roku and supplied with a full compliment of bath amenities.

Our cabins are just three seasons old. They are custom made with local Spruce logs and each is furnished with handmade log furniture. A great place to stay for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids) while visiting Denali National Park.

Denali  (also known as Mount McKinley, its former official name) is the highest mountain peak in North America, with a summit elevation of 20,310 feet (6,190 m) above sea level. Denali rises about 18,000 feet (5,486 m) from its base, exceeding Everest’s 12,000 feet (3,658 m) vertical rise from base at around 17,000 feet (5,182 m). Denali is the third most prominent and third most isolated peak after Mount Everest and Aconcagua. Located in the Alaska Range in the interior of the U.S. state of Alaska, Denali is the centerpiece of Denali National Park and Preserve.

“We had a wonderful stay in the Moose cabin! It was clean, comfortable and everything was top notch! We walked to the 49th State Brewery two nights in a row and it was a very quick drive to Denali National Park. We wish we could have stayed another night!

“Good place for a short stay near Denali National Park. Reasonable price for the area. Everything is new and looks great. The furniture is pretty uncomfortable, though, and the beds are high–could be a problem for people with back or leg problems. Healy is an excellent location, distant from crazy and touristy Glitter Gulch.”
